MUF-TEE MUST CLOSE MARCH 27 - TOP GUESTS LINED UP!

Australia's smash hit cult cabaret concept, "The Muf-Tee Show" will close on Saturday, March 27th after completing its first season of 2004 at STABLES THEATRE (10 Nimrod Street, Kings Cross, Sydney - Tel: 9250-7799). The final three weeks of the concept, which ran for seven months last year and most recently had a hit season in New York, will feature some of Australia's biggest names from the cabaret and theatre fields. The fast-paced show has been widely acclaimed by reviewers and the general public alike since it opened, and continues to provide a completely new show each week. Tickets $18.

A wild and wacky blend of cabaret and theatre, Muf-Tee first made its SBW Stables Theatre debut in May last year. Each show is hosted by Hayden Tee, winner of the New York Award at the 2002 Sydney Cabaret Convention, together with his musical director and co-host Nigel Ubrihien. Hayden and Nigel are joined by a series of special guests and perform a mix of songs, chat, games, agony aunt segments and much more in a clever "tonight show" style mix.

Muf-Tee plays every Friday and Saturday evening at 11pm until March 27. Friday & Saturday, March 12th & 13th sees appearances by Phil Scott, Kate Parry and LJ Smith. Muf-Tee continues to pump out the big name guests after this weekend, with musical theatre mainstay Sharon Millerchip, Meagan Caratti and Joanna Weinberg performing on the weekend of March 19th and 20th. The final Muf-Tee will feature the remarkable Garry Scale and Kate Early, as well as Scott Irwin and Danielle Barnes, who will talk exclusively about the shock cancellation of The Full Monty.

Phil Scott is a well-known performer, writer and pianist. He appeared in and co-wrote "Three Men And A Baby Grand" and "Abroad With Two Men" for the Tilbury, "Zen And Now" for the Adelaide Festival, and several revues for the Sydney Theatre Company, including "Free Petrol", "The Year Of Living Comfortably" and "Much Revue About Nothing". Most recently, his newest work "The Republic of Myopia" opened the new Sydney Theatre.

Kate Parry is an extraordinary performer from The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has enjoyed a varied array of performance opportunities since graduation, in productions such as "Annie", "Mack & Mabel", "Carousel" and Walt Disney Special Events. She is best known for her feature role in "Shout: The Musical of The Wild One" and as Helen in "What The World Needs Now".

LJ Smith, a graduate of WAPPA will premiere her new cabaret show, "Confessions of a Caffeine Addict" at Kabarett Voltaire and the Glen Street Theatre next month and is best known for her role in the hit cabaret show "You and me makes three".
