TIM MINCHIN AT KABARETT VOLTAIRE IN DIE KABARETT

KABARETT VOLTAIRE at The Seymour Theatre Centre (City Road and Cleveland Street, Chippendale, NSW, AU - 9351 7940 - http://www.showtune.com.au/ ) and SHOWTUNE PRODUCTIONS will present Tim Minchin in "die kabarett" on Fridays, November 5th, 12th, 19th and Saturday the 20th. "die kabaret" is a smorgasbord of music, comedy, beat poetry and air-guitar. The songs in the show are all deep and insightful masterpieces that range in subject matter from love, to religion, to environmentalism, to teenage years. It combines the funniest, darkest and stupidest bits of Minchin's previous shows, and will feature the world premiere of his environmental anthem, Take Your Canvas Bags. There is a $25 cover.

Tim is known as a Musical Director for Todd McKenney and Eddie Perfect, front man of the band Rosencrantz and Timmy the Dog. In October last year, Tim Minchin wrote and performed his first solo show, "Navel - cerebral melodies with umbilical chords," which earned him two nominations at the 2003 Green Room Awards. He was a Victorian state finalist in Raw Comedy 2004, and his second show, "Perineum Millennium" (the in-between years) sold out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in April this year. He has just returned from a sell-out season of "die kabarett "in Western Australia.

He has also been spotted on GMA, Stateline, The Arts Show and The Good Friday Appeal. Before migrating east, he worked in Perth as an actor, composer, pianist, singer and writer. He has acted for stage, (Perth Theatre Co, Black Swan, etc), short film and television; composed for Perth's major theatre companies and for Discovery Channel (USA) and Sunrise Entertainment (Singapore); and has written a musical play, Pop - a tragically musical romantic black comedy, which was performed at the Blue Room theatre in 2000.
