Sister Mary
was created for the London Mardi Gras Arts Festival in 2002 when she
hosted the launch of the Festival and also the Classic FM stage at
Mardi Gras. Since then she has developed into a real character along
the lines of Dame Edna Everage.
Sister Mary
made her West End debut at the JERMYN STREET THEATRE (16B Jermyn Street,
Piccadilly, London - 020 72872875 - http://www.jermynstreettheatre.co.uk/
) a year ago and the press quickly took an active interest with interviews
in Timeout London, Rainbownetwork.com, QX magasine and reviews in
the Evening Standard, The Stage and Musical Stages.
Now venturing
forth from her convent of St Peter's of the Sisters of the Third Removed
in London's Soho, Sister Mary is now delighted to cross The Pond to
present her very own One-Nun Show. She is planning lots of Christmas
shopping while she's in New York, and to help with some missionary
work in Williamsberg, Brooklyn and maybe do a spot of ice-skating
at Rockerfeller Center.
Tim McArthur's
versatility is demonstrated by his track record as a cabaret performer,
actor, director and producer. He has just finished directing the European
premiere, at Baron's Court Theatre, of Seduction by Jack Heifner,
which premiered in San Francisco earlier this year. An active personality
on London's gay scene. He runs his own theatre company, Trilby Productions,
which produced the new musical When Harry Met Barry and new gay play
Blowing Whistles, and is largely responsible for increasing the profile
of cabaret in London over the past 4 years.
