"DOUG LIVE!" Returns to the West Village

DOUG LIVE!, an acoustic cabaret featuring the words and music of Douglas Manes, returns to the celebrated West Village club UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 1-212-366-5438 - http://www.rosesturn.com/). This show marks Doug's New York debut as a singer/songwriter and club performer. Fresh on the New York club/cabaret scene, his original shows have played to critical acclaim, delighting LA audiences at The Eclectic Cafe, The Masquers Club, and The Gardenia. There will be four encore performances: March 15th, 22nd, 29th and April 5th, all shows at 7:00 pm. Cover is $15 with a 2-drink minimum.

Douglas Manes was the male lead of WOMEN IN TUNE, a cabaret tribute to the female lyricists of Broadway, that played to sold out audiences in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He worked with performance artist Rinde Eckert to help create THE WAY OF HOW in Seattle, and ROMEO, SIERRA, TANGO in New York, a work commissioned by George Wolfe for The Public Theater.

He is also founder and coach of the New York based LabRats, a "long form" improvisation ensemble that, together with film maker Leslie Shearing, created DOGS IN THE BASEMENT - a hilarious mock documentary that has garnered top awards at both the Santa Barbara and Montreal International Film Festivals, and is now an Official Selection of The San Francisco International Film Festival coming in April.
