BRITISH CABARET DIVA BARB JUNGR RETURNS TO JOE'S PUB IN OCTOBER

Sultry-voiced Barb Jungr will be back in her second home on Friday, October 22nd, at 9:30 pm at JOE'S PUB (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - Tele-Charge: 1-212-239-6200 - Box Office: 212-539-8778 - http://www.joespub.com/ ). Accompanied by pianist Charlie Giordano, Ms. Jungr will perform selections from her critically acclaimed latest CD "Waterloo Sunset" and other selections. Jungr has created a niche of her own with a uniquely personal style tinged with humor. Accompanied by Charlie Giordano on piano, she dazzles listeners with her exceptional voice, eclectic repertoire and exquisite charm. Tickets cost $25 for the performance.

Named Best International Act 2003 by Back Stage magazine, Barb Jungr feels so at home in New York City and has garnered such a devoted following among New York jazz fans and reviewers alike that she makes the trek from her first home in London at least three times a year for sell-out performances. In June she wowed packed audiences at MAMA ROSE'S (219 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-533-0558 - http://www.mamaroses.net/ ) for four nights.

Since first coming to America, she has captivated the most discerning music fans and critics alike. Accolades for her U.S. performances in the last two years have poured in from the New York Times, New York magazine, the New York Post, Backstage, Variety, the New York Blade and the Village Voice, to name a few.

In Waterloo Sunset, Barb Jungr's third release since 2000, the singer explores new territory with selections from the Everly Brothers, Ray Davies, Richard Thompson, Steve Miller and Leon Russell, as well as two classic Bob Dylan pieces and three original songs. Ms. Jungr first grabbed the attention of the American music cognoscenti with the U.S. release from Linn Records in 2002 of her internationally acclaimed CDs: Every Grain of Sand, her Bob Dylan tour-de-force, and Chanson: The Space In Between, selections from Jacques Brel, LČo FerrČ and Elvis Costello.
