ANNE KERRY FORD IN MILWAUKEE FOR SONDHEIM/HAMMERSTEIN TRIBUTE

After first creating her tribute to Stephen Sondheim and his mentor Oscar Hammerstein in '97, California singer Anne Kerry Ford presents "Something Wonderful", a tribute to Stephen Sondheim and his mentor, Oscar Hammerstein in at THE SHARON LYNNE WILSON CENTER FOR THE ARTS (19805 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI - 262-781-9520) on Friday, May 7th and Saturday, May 8th at 8:00 pm before taking the show to New York City for further performances. Her musical director is John Boswell. Presented by Stepping Out Productions, the ticket price is $20 (20% off for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE - phone orders only).

Anne graduated from Juilliard when she was only twenty years old, and had an active career in theatre before making her Broadway debut as Grace Farrell in "Annie." She also appeared on Broadway in "Threepenny Opera" with Sting and created the role of Margaret in the Broadway-bound "Jekyll and Hyde" opposite John Cullum. One of her favorite roles was in the original cast of "Harry Chapin Lies and Legends" in Chicago with pal Amanda McBroom. Her longtime collaboration with musical director John Boswell began with the (first) Sondheim/Hammerstein tribute, and selections from the show on her second CD (also entitled "Something Wonderful").

Anne was the vocalist for the West German Radio Orchestra's salute to Kurt Weill's centenary in 2000, and in 2001, she made her US concert debut with an encore presentation of the Weill concert at The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in L.A. She returned to The Ford Amphitheatre in 2002 to be the vocalist in "Blue Skies", a collaboration with her husband, guitarist Robben Ford, and jazz pianist Russell Ferrante. She has appeared at The Mabel Mercer Palm Spring's Cabaret Convention as well as the conventions in San Francisco and New York, also at The Cinegrill, The Jazz Bakery, and The Alex Theatre in L.A, Sculler's in Boston, San Francisco's Plush Room, Blues Alley in Washington DC, and many other venues across the country.
