STEPHANIE J. BLOCK IS ALL SMILES AT BIRDLAND

Stephanie J. Block, currently co-starring as Liza Minnelli opposite Hugh Jackman in THE BOY FROM OZ, will make her nightclub debut at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080 - http://www.birdlandjazz.com/ ) on Monday, August 2nd at 8:00 pm with her show "All Smiles." In addition to singing standards, Stephanie will perform a song from WICKED, a swinging duet with musical director/performer Billy Stritch and a tribute to Peter Allen. Direction is by Jim Caruso. There is a $20 cover, $10 food/drink minimum.

Stephanie made her Broadway debut in THE BOY FROM OZ straight from the San Francisco run of WICKED, where she covered and performed the role of Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of the West. Her regional credits include Funny Girl (2000 L.A. Robby Award-Best Actress), Oliver! (2001 Critics' Award-Best Actress), Triumph of Love (2002 L.A Robby Award-Best Supporting Actress), Crazy For You (2002 L.A. Ovation Award Nomination-Best Actress), Fiddler On The Roof (Pittsburgh CLO), James Joyce's The Dead (Ahmanson Theatre and Kennedy Center), Let Me Sing (The George Street Playhouse & Charlotte Rep.), The Grass Harp (Pasadena Playhouse), Bells Are Ringing (Reprise!), I Love a Piano (Denver Center), Damn Yankees, and Bye Bye Birdie (Sacramento Music Circus). Her voice can be heard on numerous commercial jingles and as the singing voice of Barbie!
