A Francophile Celebrates Bastille Day

Celebrating Bastille Day, the Mychelle Colleary Jazz Trio (with John Dipinto on Piano and Ritt Henn on Bass) performs two sets at historic CORNELIA STREET CAFE (29 Cornelia Street, NYC - 212-989-9319 - http://www.corneliastreetcafe.com/ ) on July 14th at 8:30 and 10:00 pm. The show will consist of jazz infused songs of fellow Francophiles: Cole Porter, Josephine Baker, Kurt Weill, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Alberta Hunter, and Mabel Mercer; as well as both contemporary and traditional French pop songs. There is a $15 cover plus $6 food/drink minimum.

A California native, Mychelle Colleary now lives in New York City and has delighted audiences and critics alike at top venues such as Manhattan's popular Duplex Cabaret Theater, Don't Tell Mama and Danny's Skylight Room with her shows "Enter the November Nebula with Shirley Temple's Evil Twin" and "From Alactraz To Sing-Sing."

Mychelle Colleary is a San Francisco favorite having hosted the on-going Song of the Month Club at Martuni's, and as an original member of The Kitchenettes. She recently performed at Kelly's of Alameda and at the Plush Room as part of the annual Teddy Care Benefit concert. Mychelle has shared the stage with such jazz greats as Bobby McFerrin, Richie Cole, Claire Fisher, and Carl Anderson. A versatile artist, she has also performed folk-rock music at the Fillmore, Turkish Sufi music at the Palace of Fine Arts, and Bach with the San Jose Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Colleary's discography includes "After Hours at the Plush Room" recorded live at the fabled San Francisco music venue and features the music of Rodgers and Hart, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Strayhorn as well as exciting original songs.

The Mychelle Colleary trio can also be seen weekly for Sunday Brunch, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at STONEWALL BISTRO (113 Seventh Avenue South, NYC - 917-661-1335). For more information on Mychelle Colleary visit http://www.mychelle.com/.
