MAMA TOLD ME NOT TO COME AT MAMA'S

J. Cameron Bamett recounts in his laugh-out-loud, autobiographical cabaret, "Mama Told Me Not to Come," to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) for three remaining performances on Sunday, March 14th at 5:30 pm, Monday, March 15th at 6:30 pm and Tuesday, March 23rd at 6:30 pm. Barnett, 28, is accompanied by veteran cabaret arranger and composer Fran Minarik on piano. The show is choreographed by Sean Watters and Barnett conceived and wrote the entire production himself. Tickets are $12 (half-price for MAC members) with a 2-drink minimum.

Opening with a clever tribute to Barnett's home state, the one-hour tour de force showcases both the performer's amazing vocal range and his versatility as a singer and storyteller. Taking the audience through a roller coaster ride of issues as diverse as growing up black in the rural South and coming out to cruise ship auditions and why eating a turkey shipped from your mother might not be the best idea, "Mama Told Me Not to Come" touches both the heart and tickles the funny bone.
