
TOM
ANDERSEN AT THE CENTER ONE NIGHT ONLY

Celebrated
singer/songwriter Tom Andersen will perform for one night only on
Thursday, October 21st at 7:00 pm at THE CENTER (208 West 13th Street,
NYC - 212-620-7310 Ext. 274 - http://www.gaycenter.org/
). Tom will appear as guest artist in the Queer Songbook Series, a
program sponsored by THE CENTER. Tickets are $15 for Center members,
$20 for non-members.
A romantic
tenor and acclaimed songwriter, Andersen has performed at Carnegie
Hall, Weill Recital Hall and Town Hall. In addition, he has headlined
at Tavern on the Green, the Russian Tea Room and the Algonquin. He
is the recipient of four Backstage Bistro Awards and five awards from
MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs - http://www.macnyc.com/
), including "Outstanding Male Vocalist," "Recording of the Year"
and "Song of the Year."
Earlier this
month, on October 4TH, Queer Songbook presented "A New Generation
of Broadway Composers," featuring composers such as Andrew Lippa (The
Wild Party) and Doug Cohen (The Opposite of Sex), and performers such
as Rachel York, Melba Moore, Billy Porter and Tom Andersen.
Established
in 1983, New York's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community
Center is the largest LGBT community center on the East Coast.
