PAULA WEST OPENS THIS SEASON'S NJPAC CABARET SERIES

Paula West opens this season's NJPAC's Cabaret at the Chase series at The Chase Room at the NEW JERSEY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (One Center Street, Newark, NJ - 888-466-5722 - http://www.njpac.org) on Saturday, October 4th at 7:30 pm. Performing with The Eric Reed Trio (Eric Reed on piano, Bili Douglass on bass, and Rodney Green on drums), her program will include, among others, Oscar Brown's "The Snake," Antonio Carlos Jobin's "Waters of March," and Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life." Tickets are $36.

Equally acclaimed on both coasts, Paula West performs to sell-out houses annually at The Plush Room in San Francisco and at the Algonquin Hotel's venerable Oak Room (she plays there for three weeks following her NJPAC engagement). Ms. West has appeared at the Monterrey Jazz Festival and will be featured later this month at the Cerritos Festival.

In February, she will be part of Lincoln Center's "Singers Over Manhattan" series and shares the stage with Freddy Cole at the Ferst Center in Atlanta in May. She just returned from a week's engagement at Marian's Jazz Room in Bern, Switzerland and prior to leaving for this trip, she shared the stage with Oscar Brown, Jr. at San Francisco's Herbst Theatre before a SRO crowd.

NJPAC's Cabaret at the Chase recreates the intimate setting of a cabaret with bistro-style table seating as well as a cash bar and other refreshments available for purchase. Cabaret at the Chase is made possible through the generosity of the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.
