Ronan holds a degree in medicine from Dublin's Trinity College and recently wrote his autobiography "Halfway Home: My Life ÔTil Now," which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2001. Ronan's latest album, "The Impossible Dream," was recently released in connection with his first solo special for PBS. He was recently named "PBS Entertainer of the Year" by WLIW 21-TV.

Ronan Tynan began his formal music studies while in his early 30s and in 1994 made his debut at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. In September of 1998, his first solo album "My Life Belongs to You" was number 5 on the charts and by December had reached platinum. Ronan was invited to join The Irish Tenors soon after; to date the group has sold over 1.5 million albums worldwide and performed in three PBS Specials. Ronan recently performed for the President and Mrs. Bush in Washington, DC as well as a gala concert at the Kennedy Center as a soloist. Ronan was one of the performers at the September 11 Memorial Service at Yankee Stadium which aired on CNN and he also appeared and sang on "Larry King Live." Ronan has performed his widely acclaimed song "God Bless America" at Yankee Stadium for several regular season games as well as the Division Series and World Series.
