DOUG TRAPP RETURNS TO DANNY'S

Singer/comedian Doug Trapp returns with his show "The Trapp Family Singer" to DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) October 9th & 16th, Thursdays at 7:00 pm. Barbara Anselmi will accompany Mr. Trapp. There will be a $12.00 music charge and a $10.00 food/drink minimum. Fresh from his successful engagement in the premiere of Martin Charnin's "New No Frills Revue," at the Lake Pepin Players Theater in Wisconsin "The Trapp Family Singer" arrives in New York fresh from its second engagement at the Loring Playhouse in Minneapolis.

This popular and heartwarming cabaret is a delightful evening of songs and stories about a boy growing up in a very southern family and finding his own way, out of the south and out in the world. The story is told through songs ranging from the standards of Rogers & Hammerstein, Berlin and Jerry Herman, to contemporary works by John Bucchino, Shelly Markham, and Heisler & Goldrich.

Doug's cabaret career began as a fluke, when he and a friend were rehearsing a song for the Men's Chorus fundraiser, and decided to call themselves Steve and Eddie Gourmet. They were an instant hit and for the next two years performed in Minneapolis clubs spoofing everyone from Olivia Newton John and Helen Reddy to The Captain and Tennille. A 2000 Fellow at the O'Neill Cabaret Symposium, by 2002 Doug put everything he learned about cabaret to the test and developed The "Trapp Family Singer."

Doug's theater roles include leads in "Big River," "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," "A Little Night Music," "Forever Plaid," "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown," "Music Man," "The Merry Widow," "Death of A Salesman," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Sweeney Todd."
