Pam Tate brings her all-new show "Something Wonderful" to THE DUPLEX
CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/)
on Tuesdays, April 22nd & 29th at 7:00 pm. "Something Wonderful" features
such favorites as George & Ira Gershwin's "Our Love Is Here To Stay,"û
"All The Way" by Sammy Cahn and "Something Wonderful" by Rodgers and
Hammerstein as well as songs by contemporary songwriters Lina Koutrakos,
Sting and Tate. "Something Wonderful" is directed by Erv Raible, with
musical direction by Tedd Firth and Ritt Henn on bass. There is a
$15 music charge ($10 for MAC members) and a 2-drink minimum.
On Thursday March 20th
at 7:00 pm, Pam will be performing at THE DUPLEX as part of MAC WEEK,
special shows featuring the 2003 MAC AWARD nominees. There is a $10
music charge ($6 for MAC members) and a 2-drink minimum.
Previously Pam was seen
in her 2003 MAC AWARD nominated debut, LOVE LOST AND FOUND PAM TATE
SINGS PAM TATE, her cabaret show of mostly original songs. Pam participated
in the MAC/ASCAP Songwriters Showcase in November 2002, where she
wowed the audience with her comic song "Bar Mitzvah Shiksa Mama" (words
by Tate/lyrics by Tate & Raible) and she was a featured songwriter/performer
in the popular NEW MONDAYS series at the Duplex in NYC.
Prior to this Pam made
her entrance into the New York cabaret scene as part of the ensemble
of Erv Raible's critically acclaimed "September 11, 2001 ... The Musical
Response."
Pam has performed in venues
ranging from small clubs to stadiums of 50,000, and has opened concerts
for such artists as The Doobie Brothers and Hall & Oates. As a BMI
songwriter Pam has released two CDs of original music, the bluesy
"Die Happy" and the pop-rock "Dancing on the Pyramids," both to international
rave reviews and radio play. She directs and performs with the pop-gospel
group Joyful Noize.
As an actress, Pam has
appeared regionally in leading roles in musicals such as "Blood Brothers,"
"Leader of the Pack" and "Jacques Brel ..". An award winning writer,
Pam has written full-length and one-act plays and screenplays, including
"Pure Art: A Play About Leni Riefenstahl," which won the national
play writing contest, "Women At The Door."
