JEANNE
SCHERKENBACH DEBUTS AT DAVENPORT'S
Jeanne
Scherkenbach will make her debut at DAVENPORT'S Piano Bar & Cabaret
(1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/),
Sundays in April, the 6th & 13th at 7:00 pm and the 27th at 6:00 pm,
in her new show "Treasures From My Trunk ... Finally Found!". Through
the songs of Irving Berlin, Victor Herbert, Jerome Kern, George M.
Cohan, Harold Arlen and Giacomo Puccini, this show gives you a peek
into the many and diverse musical paths Jeanne has traveled. Ron Cohn
directs the show and musical direction is by the Chicago favorite
Dan Stetzel. Cover charge is $ 20.00 with a 2-drink minimum.
"Treasures From My Trunk
..." is an archeological dig through the musical artifacts of Jeanne's
life - from her first interest in musical theatre (nourished by her
Broadway Star brother, Bobby Lee) to her accidental opera career (at
the Metropolitan Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, among others)
to her love and affinity for the intimacy of Cabaret. Inside Jeanne's
trunk, the careful excavator can sift through diverse and marvelous
gems like "Let Me Sing and I'm Happy," "Italian Street Song," "If
I'm Lucky" and Madama Butterfly's final aria, "Tu Tu Piccolo Ideo,"
as well as cabaret standards from the Great American Songbook.
