Casual Cabaret Hits The Stables

"MufTee" launches officially at the STABLES THEATRE (10 Nimrod Street, Kings Cross, Sydney - Tel: 9250-7799) on May 23rd and 24th (with previews on May 16th) and provides a unique meshing of cabaret performance with special guests and audience interplay. "MufTee" will be hosted by Hayden Tee, who has been described by the Sydney Morning Herald as "Australian theatre's next big thing" and by the Canberra Times as "bright and constantly engaging." There will be two shows per week, with late night starts, costing $15 per ticket.

Imagine if David Letterman let Andrew Lloyd Webber take over his variety show. That's the best way to describe an innovative new concept, "MufTee", devised by renowned theatre producer Les Solomon. The ultimate goal? The hope that the concept will re-invent the art of cabaret in Sydney and also bring it to a young and enthusiastic audience.

Tee, with his spectacular voice and comic skills, is the ideal host and performer who, apart from singing several songs each week, will introduce a plethora of guests who will sing, act, partake in duets and interact with the audience. Fresh from critically acclaimed performances in "Three Winters Green" and his own show, "Quarterlife Crisis," Tee is looking forward to taking on the role, and hopes it helps boost cabaret's profile in Sydney.

The show's permanent Musical Director will be Green Room award winner Nigel Ubrihen, who has recently been touring with Hayden's cabaret show, which recently played in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, and last year ventured to New York's DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/).
