Peisha McPhee in "Much Ado About Sondheim" at FEINSTEIN'S at the CINEGRILL

Peisha McPhee will present her one-woman 70-minute cabaret show, "Much Ado About Sondheim," an exploration of the remarkable similarity in thought and expression between writer William Shakespeare's most often quoted words and composer Stephen Sondheim's musical lyrics, at FEINSTEIN'S at the CINEGRILL at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (7000 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA - 323-466-7269) on Mondays, July 7th, 14th and 21st at 8:30 p.m. Ms. McPhee's program will include perennial favorite Sondheim songs like "Anyone Can Whistle," "Can That Boy Fox Trot," "In Buddy's Eyes" and "Losing My Mind." The show is conceived and directed by Pianist and Music Director, Mel Dangcil. There will be a $20 Cover Charge, plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

Peisha McPhee (Vocalist) has performed her cabaret act aboard the Natchez Delta Queen, for Princess Cruises, at the Cinegrill, The Gardenia, and the LA Ovation Awards, the 15th Annual Television Hall of Fame Awards and at the Mabel Mercer Foundation's annual Cabaret Convention in San Francisco. On television she has been seen on the shows, "Slice of Life," "The Incredible Hulk Returns," "Ziegfeld - The Man & His Women," "Once Upon a Brothers Grimm," "Simon & Simon" and "Island Sons."

McPhee was a part of the National Tours of "Fiddler On The Roof" appearing as Hodel and Tzeitel, playing opposite Ed Ames and the late Herschel Bernardi and in "Winner Takes All," appearing as Laurie, playing opposite Patricia Morrison. She has also starred as "Julie" in several regional productions of "Showboat!" where she played opposite Davis Gaines and Harvey Evans in one production, and opposite Donald O'Connor in another production. She has also played opposite John McCook as Aldonza in a touring production of "Man of La Mancha." Other regional venues she has performed at include the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera, Opera Omaha, the Norris Theater for the Performing Arts, Long Beach Civic Light Opera, Sacramento Music Circus, Wichita Kansas Civic Light Opera and Opera Pacifica, among others.

Besides performing, McPhee is also a voice teacher and performance coach. She currently serves as Artistic Director of the Cabaret Performance Workshop at Los Angeles City College with Mel Dangcil. McPhee and Dangcil's teaching techniques received national acclaim and recognition, most notably on the Discovery Channel's series, "Slice of Life." In addition, she maintains a private studio practice in Sherman Oaks, CA, where her students range in age from 11 to 75. McPhee holds a BFA degree in Musical Theatre from Loretto Heights College in Denver, CO. McPhee's solo debut CD album, "Out of the Blue," is available on the LML Music label at Tower Records, Border's Bookstores, via www.amazon.com and at major record stores nationwide. The title of the CD was inspired by her mentor, the legendary Julie Wilson.
