ANDREA MARCOVICCI AT PLUSH ROOM IN 5-WEEK RUN

International cabaret star Andrea Marcovicci, who began her singing career in THE PLUSH ROOM at the York Hotel (940 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-885-2800 - http://www.plushroom.com/), celebrates her 15th season in this intimate cabaret with a five week through Saturday, October 11th. Ms. Marcovicci will be accompanied by Musical Director Shelly Markham. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm and all shows are $35 plus a 2-drink minimum.

The first four weeks are dedicated to premier performances of "If I Were a Bell" featuring the Songs of Frank Loesser, a new show designed by Ms. Marcovicci to showcase Loesser's incredible repertoire representing both songwriting and lyricist talents ... some written totally by himself and others with contemporaries of the mid-twentieth century such as Hoagy Carmichael, Arthur Schwartz, Burton Lane, and Julie Styne.

Songs from Mr. Loesser's career of four decades of Broadway and film musicals will be included from highly acclaimed shows such as "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," "The Most Happy Fella," "Guys and Dolls," and "Hans Christian Andersen," to other stand-alone hits such as "Heart and Soul," "I Don't Want to Walk Without You," "Baby It's Cold Outside," and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" Ms. Marcovicci, whose storytelling talents are an integral part of her act, creates a rich tapestry in song and story of Mr. Loesser's vast contribution to the great American songbook.

By popular demand, the final performance week of October 7th through 11th is a return of her popular show of all Cole Porter love songs, "So In Love." This will also coincide with the launch of Ms. Marcovicci's new CD, "Andrea Marcovicci Sings Cole Porter." Porter's style and wit is a match made in heaven for Ms. Marcovicci's own scintillating and sophisticated treatment of his sly lyrics, mischievous moods and beautiful melodies with poignant messages.

In New York, Ms. Marcovicci makes THE ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM (59 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-840-6800 - http://www.algonquinhotel.com/) her cabaret home once again as she returns this fall to launch "If I Were a Bell" for the East Coast audience November 18th, 2003 through February 14th, 2004. Although she treasures the intimacy of cabaret performance, the glamorous chanteuse has risen to international stature performing throughout the United States and Europe as guest artist with symphonies and music festivals, in performance at Carnegie Hall and The White House, and in leading musical theatre roles such as the portrayal of Liza Elliott in the Kurt Weill/ Ira Gershwin musical "Lady in The Dark" at the Philadelphia Prince Music Theatre.
