ANDREA MARCOVICCI LAUNCHES OAK ROOM'S HOLIDAY SEASON

Andrea Marcovicci will premiere the latest in her acclaimed series of annual Holiday Season shows, "If I Were A Bell: The Songs of Frank Loesser" on Tuesday November 18th through Saturday January 3rd at THE ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM (59 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-840-6800 - http://www.algonquinhotel.com/). Accompanying Andrea will be musical director Shelly Markham. The show will play the following schedule: Tuesday through Saturday at 9:00 pm with additional shows on Friday & Saturday at 11:30 pm. There is a $55 cover charge during the week and $60 weekends, with a $55 dinner charge ($20 for Tuesdays and late shows).

Frank Loesser's four decades of music and lyrics encompass some of the greatest stage and film achievements of the 20th century, and the two dozen songs Andrea will sing include those written entirely by Mr. Loesser as well collaborative efforts with Hoagy Carmichael, Jule Styne, Jimmy McHugh, Arthur Schwartz, Burton Lane and Victor Schertzinger.

Her show includes songs from the Broadway and Hollywood classics Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Most Happy Fella and Hans Christian Anderson, among others. Andrea will also offer such Loesser hits as "Heart and Soul," "I Don't Want to Walk Without You," "Two Sleepy People," "Baby, It's Cold Outside," "On A Slow Boat to China," "Spring Will Be A Little Late This Year" and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

For New Year's Eve, Andrea and guest artists will entertain in the Oak Room and later join Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, who will provide the evening's dance music, in the famed Algonquin Lobby for a Midnight Champagne Toast to welcome 2004!
