For Ingrid, life's ups
and downs are best approached through music. She is originally from
Melbourne but three years ago couldn't resist the lure of Sydney's
theatre scene. Ingrid brings her story through song to the eastern
suburbs this month. She combines some old favorites, some rare gems
and original compositions, interlaced with her special brand of warmth
and humour. She brings her fabulous voice to life's big issues and
together with Andrew Ross's piano accompaniment creates a show with
universal appeal.
Originally trained as
a dancer at the Victorian College of the Arts, Ingrid has worked in
film, television and theatre. Credits include the Sydney stage show,
"Pan," and the movies "Pitch Black" and "Komodo," the television series,
"Farscape," the pilot for the television series, "Lil Horrors" and
as an actor in "Andrea Chenier" with Opera Australia. Ingrid also
toured extensively with Polyglot Theatre in Victoria and performed
with Handspan Theatre in Melbourne. This is Ingrid's third cabaret
show since moving to Sydney. Previous shows "Something from Nothing"
and "The Commitment Thing" and now "On My Way."
Andrew Ross works as a
musical director, pianist, vocal coach and actor. His musical theatre
credits include "Miss Saigon" (Cameron Mackintosh), "Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" (Really Useful Co) and "The Buddy Holly
Story" (Everyday Productions). Musical direction credits include "Barry
Humphries World Tour: Look at Me When I'm Talking to You," "The Venetian
Twins" (Gordon Frost) and "Botham: The Musical" (with Emma Thompson,
Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie) for Cambridge Footlights Revue). More
recently Andrew has performed with Barry Humphries on Broadway and
was singing coach for Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor on "Moulin Rouge."
