"Keith Thompson's Kooky Tunes" at DILLON'S For Two Nights Only

Keith Thompson's Kooky Tunes, the highly acclaimed musical comedy review directed by two-time Tony Award winner Thommie Walsh, and featuring Jay Rogers, Patrick DeGennaro, Vanessa Jones and Perry Payne, reopens for two nights only, May 12th and 19th at 8:00 pm at THE BACK ROOM AT DILLON'S (245 West 54th Street, NYC - Resv: 1-212-946-5416). The show features specialty material penned by Thompson, an award-winning musical theatre and television composer who wrote Off-Broadway's White Lies with standout screenwriter and playwright Douglas Carter Beane. There is a $15 cover charge and $10 food or drink minimum.

Following sellout runs at Eighty-Eight's, the Laurie Beechman Theatre at the WestBank Cafe, and Don't Tell Mama, the show was picked up for a live album recording by John Yap and Jay Records, completed last July at Clinton Studios and released in September to fantastic reviews. Live cast albums will be available for purchase at all performances.

Thompson's MAC-award nominated specialty songs, punny patter and comedic characters are brought to life by an eclectic and appropriately kooky cast including long-time collaborator and funny man Jay Rogers. Rogers, one of New York's best musical comics, received the Drama Desk nomination for his hilarious torch songs to Newt Gingrich, Strom Thurmond, and Rush Limbaugh in the Off-Broadway smash hit "When Pigs Fly," and is both a MAC and BACK STAGE Bistro award winner.

Rogers and fellow Kooky Tunester Perry Payne, who recently completed a sold-out Off-Broadway run as Sylvia Fine Kaye in "Danny and Sylvia" at Chashama, were chosen for InTheatre's compilation of the "Ten Funniest People in Cabaret" in its final "Best of the Best" issue for their "Kooky" performances. Acclaimed pop/rock singer and recording artist Patrick DeGennaro and Lion King veteran Vanessa Jones deliver knockout vocal performances to round out the diverse and accomplished ensemble.
