KING KONG ROOM REVISES ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

SCHEDULES ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCES FOR MONDAYS AT 8:30 PM

Here is great news for everyone in New York City who loves the experience of live jazz, cabaret, comedy and pop music. With the success of Jim Caruso's Cast Party (http://www.jim-caruso.com/CastParty/index.html), KING KONG ROOM at the Supper Club (240 West 47th Street, NYC - 1-212-921-1904 - http://www.KingKongRoom.com/) is expanding their Monday night schedule to include an early (8:30 pm) show. The performance space has been re-focused, with defined lights and sound; and the staff has been prepped to understand the complexities of "no blender drinks during ballads!" The same cool lounge vibe will continue, of course, making King Kong Room a fun and casual alternative space for established performers to experiment with new sounds, new material and new musical combinations!

Jim Caruso kicked off "MONDAYS AT 8:30" on June 2nd, with "Laughing Matters," which ran for three SRO months at Arci's Place two years ago. At the piano and on occasional vocals was the ever-swingin' Johnny Rodgers.

On June 16th the room will feature the very same Johnny Rodgers with his brand new band, showcasing original material performed by New York's most up-and-coming jazz/pop fusion guy! There will be a $15 cover and a $15 food/drink minimum. For more information about Johnny Rodgers see http://www.johnnyrodgers.com/.

June 30th, Mark Nadler will be performing "In A Nutshell," a mixed bag of material from his many outrageous cabaret and concert extravaganzas! There will be a $25 cover, $15 food/drink minimum. Mark Nadler's website is http://www.marknadler.com/.

July 21st will be the night one of NY's favorite performers takes the stage at King Kong Room. Steven Santoro is a wildly talented blues-pop-jazz singer whom the London Times called, "uncontrivedly hip, combining the improv imagination and rhythmic flexibility of jazz with the emotional appeal of pop." $15 cover, $15 food/drink minimum at 8:30pm. For more information, see the Steven Santoro Website at http://www.stevensantoro.com/index.htm/.

Also scheduled, on July 28th MAC and Bistro Award-winning songwriters Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich bring their quirky humor and gorgeous melodies to the stage! There is a $20 cover, $15 food/drink minimum. See http://goldrichandheisler.com/index.htm for more details.

On Monday, August 4th, Billy Stritch will be welcomed to the King Kong Room stage. This hipster jazz/cabaret superstar has been on Broadway for the past two years and this performance will mark his nightclub homecoming! There is a $20 cover, $15 food/drink minimum.

August 11th, Hilary Kole & Elyse Spies perform "Sister Act." These bombshell sisters bring a jazz/pop feel to their original tunes and standards. Last time Ms. Kole was on a New York stage was in the smash hit she helped create, "Our Sinatra." $20 cover, $15 food/drink minimum at 8:30 pm See Hilary Kole's Website at http://www.hilarykole.com/.

On August 18th, one of Broadway and cabaret's best-loved divas, Karen Mason, will perform. She's been starring in "Mama Mia!" for the past few years, and she's making King Kong Room her new home ... at least for a night! $20 cover, $15 food/drink minimum at 8:30 pm. Karen Mason's Website is http://www.karenmason.com/ .

On August 25th Billy Stritch returns to the King Kong Room stage for another night of swinging and singing at 8:30 pm! There's a$20 cover, $15 food/drink minimum. 8:30 pm.
