Singers Forum Presents Master Class with Dick Gallagher

Singers Forum (http://www.singersforum.org/) will present a rare Master Class with award-winning composer and musical director Dick Gallagher on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 7th through 9th. "This Song's For You" is the first in a series of Master Classes presented by Singers Forum this season. Upcoming classes will be taught by vocal luminaries Tovah Feldshuh (April 5th &6th) and Julie Wilson & Ron Cohn (May 2nd through 4th). All classes will take place at Singers Forum's studios located at 39 West 19th Street, NYC.

"This Song's For You" will consist of three intensive three-hour classes, focusing on personally tailoring song to singer. Individual instruction with Mr. Gallagher will include, on a one-by-one case basis, personal arrangements, acting exercises and style and performance techniques. The class begins with each student, accompanied by Mr. Gallagher at the piano, performing his or her own song selection. The Master Class will then focus on the process of customizing each song to create a perfect fit with the singer. All students are present throughout the entire process, having the opportunity to watch each performer tackle a song and make it their own.

Dick Gallagher is an award-winning composer and musical director. He has worked with, accompanied and arranged for such talent as Patti LuPone, Mandy Patinkin, Rita Moreno, Kevin Kline, Audra McDonald and Karen Mason, among many others.

Singers Forum, now celebrating its 25th year, is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the development and appreciation of the vocal arts.
