BARBARA FASANO IN "FIELDS OF GOLD" AT DUPLEX

Award winning vocalist Barbara Fasano returns to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/ ) with her new show, "FIELDS OF GOLD" for four Saturdays, August 16th & 23rd, and September 13th & 20th at 7:00 pm. Longtime collaborator, Musical Director, Rick Jensen is at the piano. This engagement will feature music by diverse songwriters such as Sting, Gershwin, Cole Porter, Dorothy Fields, Jerome Kern, Bruce Springsteen and Alec wilder. There is a $15.00 music charge and a 2-drink minimum.

Actress and singer, Barbara is the recipient of 2 Back Stage Bistro Awards, and is a MAC Award nominee. Her critically acclaimed CD, THE GIRLS OF SUMMER received the Bistro for Outstanding Recording. Co-produced with Jensen, the CD has been played on radio stations from New York to Berlin and was cited in the Village Voice as an album worthy of Grammy consideration. Other recordings include a previously released self-titled CD, and the cast recording of THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1964. Barbara is also a vocalist on jazz trumpeter Rick Henly's recent album, CHRISTMAS PRESENT.

Barbara is the recipient of the 2003 Hofstra University George M. Estabrook Alumni Achievement Award, given to Hofstra Alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen field. Previous recipients include Francis Ford Coppola, Madeline Kahn and Lainie Kazan.

Her work as an actress includes theatre, film and television. Barbara recently appeared in the world premier of the newly revised WHAT MAKES SAMMY RUN? As a pop/jazz vocalist, she has appeared in many of New York's intimate music venues, including the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, Sardi's, The FireBird Caf¼, and the Triad. She has appeared at the Cinegrill in Los Angeles, Odette's in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and The Manor in New Jersey. For the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Convention she has been featured at Town Hall in NYC, The Prince Music Theater in Philadelphia, and most recently, at the First Ever Hampton's Cabaret Convention at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
