John De Marco at DANNY'S with "Pure & Simple"

After a 20-year hiatus from performance in Las Vegas and Europe, John De Marco is back full force. Since entering the NYC cabaret circuit 2 years ago John has performed his sold out solo shows at Judy's Chelsea, Danny's Skylight Room and the Duplex. He is currently in the middle of his 2nd solo cabaret appearance at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) with a new show, "Pure and Simple" for three performances, on Wednesday, September 10th, and Tuesday & Wednesday, September 23rd & 24th, all shows at 9:15 pm. Musical direction is by MAC and BISTRO award winner Daryl Kojak with Peter Restleff on drums and Sean Conly on bass. Featured in the show are 2003 MAC award winner Brandon Cutrell, as well as singer Jackie Fornatale. There is a $15 cover, $10 food/drink minimum. Dinner/show package is available for $42.50.

John De Marco first began singing professionally on the shows "Star Time" and "The Children's Hour" as a child performer for several years, alongside Leslie Uggams, Bobby Darren and Connie Francis. He appeared as the lead singer in the Folies Bergere in Paris for three years, returning to the States to work in the Las Vegas version of Folies at the Tropicana for several more. John stayed in Vegas headlining at the Stardust with Lilianne Montevecchi, then traveled East appearing at NYC's Copa lounge, The Bon Soir, Tony Pastor's and the Sniffen Court Inn as well as the Americana Hotel in Miami. He also appeared regularly on the Catskill Mountains circuit. De Marco has also kept his musical interest alive in later years performing at the Paper Mill Playhouse and the State Theatre of New Jersey as well as at a recent benefit for Downtown NYC hosted by Richard Skipper, this summer at the Ice Palace on Fire Island as well as at The Breakers in Palm Beach.

Mr. De Marco will also perform in the sold-out Timeless Divos Benefit at THE YORK THEATRE at Saint Peter's Church (619 Lexington Avenue, NYC, Entrance on 54th - http://www.yorktheatre.org/) alongside an all-star cast hosted by Tony Randall and Ben Vereen on Sunday, September 14th. Following the show at DANNY'S, John will begin a four week run in October with cabaret partner, Joe Agosta in "Two Guys, One Voice" at The Backroom at DILLON'S (245 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-307-9797) directed by the multi-award winning musical director Barry Levitt with the Barry Levitt trio. And in 2004 John is looking forward to bringing a new solo act to The Chase Room at the NEW JERSEY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (One Center Street, Newark, NJ - 888-466-5722 - http://www.njpac.org/) in the cabaret series that includes performers such as Johnny Mathis, Bill Cosby, Karen Mason and Andrea Marcovicci.
