Day Returns to Danny's in New Show
Cabaret
singer Courtenay Day returns to DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th
Street, NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/)
with a new show, "I Just Wanted You To Know," beginning on Wednesday,
March 5th at 9:15 pm, and continuing on Wednesday March 12th & Thursday,
March 13th st 9:15 pm. Courtenay is accompanied by musical director
Christopher Marlowe. The music charge is $15.00, with a $10 food/drink
minimum.
In her new show, "I Just
Wanted You To Know," Courtenay Day adds a number of new songs to her
repertoire, including a medley of "No Moon At All," (Mann/Evans) and
"Old Devil Moon" (Harburg/Lane), "Take It With Me" (Waits/Brennan),
and the title number, "I Just Wanted You To Know," by New York singer/songwriter
and close friend Steven Lutvak.
Ms. Day is a seasoned
performer. She has appeared in New York cabaret establishments including
Arci's Place, Don't Tell Mama, Judy's Chelsea, Danny's and Eighty
Eights; she also inaugurated Odette's in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Day
has recorded two CDs: "Courtenay Day: Live at Don't Tell Mama," and
"State of Bliss." Produced on LML Music (http://www.lmlmusic.com/),
they are distributed internationally, available through major record
stores and through their website.
Courtenay Day most recently
appeared at the Philadelphia Cabaret Convention and at Odette's. In
November of 2001, she brought her cabaret show "Take Me To The World"
to Lauderdale House in London. Following her Danny's engagement, Day
will be making her debut at London's premier cabaret venue Pizza On
The Park, along with her cabaret colleague Michael Ferreri.
