Hector
Coris in "Not Me" at Rose's Turn
With
one third of his life neatly behind him, Hector Coris still is trying
to find his niche - the place where he fits in, belongs. And what
better place to start looking than the place he's spent most of his
time - on stage. Beginning Monday, May 26 at 7:00 pm, "NOT ME" - a
musical revue for unknown actor and piano, opens for a 4-show run
at UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 1-212-366-5438).
Additional shows are Wednesday, the 28th, Friday the 30th and Saturday,
May 31st - also at 7:00 pm. There is a $10 cover, 2-drink minimum.
Hector Coris, star of
Rick Crom's "Our Life & Times Revue" and the current hit musical revue
"Around The World In A Bad Mood" goes solo, almost i this show. It's
a cabaret show that's not a cabaret show. Sure, there's some biographical
stuff in it and a couple of American songbook chestnuts, but you've
never heard them like this. And Hector's pulling out all the stops
- he's written the lyrics to nearly all of the songs, with music by
longtime collaborator Paul L. Johnson (who also is the musical director).
Backed up by two talented
(and cute!) male singers, Tripp Pettigrew and Mickey Toogood, Hector
presents a solid hour of musical mayhem and merriment that you've
never heard before! Director Collette Black reigns in all the action
with a deft hand. Additional songs are by Clare Cooper, Susan Warren
and one heck of an arrangement of a classic Irving Berlin chestnut
you'll have to hear to believe!
