Lucille Carr-Kaffashan Brings Young @ Heart to Central NJ

Lucille Carr-Kaffashan, who recently concluded a successful return engagement of her critically acclaimed cabaret show, Young @ Heart, at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) will take part in a new arts series sponsored by The Meadows Foundation. Ms. Carr-Kaffashan is bringing the popular show to the historic VAN WICKLE HOUSE (289 Easton Avenue, Franklin Township, NJ - 732-249-8374) at 8:00 pm on November 15th. She will be accompanied on piano by her talented musical director and arranger, David Brunetti. Tickets are $25 per person if purchased in advance, or $30 at the door. Tickets reserved in advance will be held at the door, and the doors will open at 7:15 pm. Light refreshments are included in the ticket price.

A resident of Franklin Township since 1979, Lucille performed locally for a number of years in the regional productions of the Somerville, New Jersey based Entertainers Theater before developing her first cabaret act. Since 1999 she has presented four different cabaret shows in New York City and Pennsylvania, has been a featured performer at the Regents Club in NYC, and has performed in a number of special cabaret productions including the Odette's 15th Anniversary Show in New Hope, PA, and the 13th Annual TeddyCare Show at the West Bank Caf¼ in NYC.

Young @ Heart contains an eclectic mix of standard and contemporary songs that reflect Lucille's musical journeys over the years. The song list includes works of celebrated songwriting teams such as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Maltby & Shire, Comden & Green, and Bricusse & Mancini, along with those of singer-songwriters such as Judy Collins, James Taylor, and Jacques Brel.

The show is a benefit for The Meadows Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving the past a future by preserving and restoring historic sites, with an emphasis on early Dutch and American heritage. The Foundation fulfills its mission by restoring historic sites,šproviding public educational and cultural programs, encouraging public appreciation for local heritage and architecture, and supporting environmental concerns by preserving open space, farmland, and historic sites.
