RUTH CANAL TO APPEAR AT ROSE'S TURN IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER

Ruth Canal will appear at UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 1-212-366-5438 - http://www.rosesturn.com/) in October and November on Saturday evenings at 7:00 in a musical review entitled "Mostly Murray," featuring the songs of Murray Grand. Performances are Saturdays on October 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th and November 1st and 8th at 7:00 pm. D. Jay Bradley is musical director of the show. He also plays the performances, alternating with Steven Ray Watkins. Also featured in the show are Tom Masters and Shawn Mitchell. The show is produced by Commonworth.com. There is a $15 cover with a 2-drink minimum.

Ms. Canal has previously appeared at Judy's, Rose's Turn and the Duplex in many musical reviews including "The Lady's Got Everything," "Characters," and "An Evening with Noel Coward." She has made guest appearances at the StandUp New York, the Comedy Cellar and many other popular clubs in the city. Ms. Canal has a huge repertoire of songs, but at the moment she specializes in the material of Murray Grand. Her current show features twenty-one of Murray's greatest songs: "Come By Sunday," "When the Devil Walks In," "Rouge," "Something's Cookin' Tonight," and, of course, Grand's most famous "Guess Who I Saw Today."

Murray Grand has performed his own material all over the world, in films and on television. He has written material for many stars including Dody Goodman and Alice Ghostley. He wrote music and lyrics for the "New Faces" musicals, "Triple Galop" (Paris), "Four Below," "Chic," "The Dancing Heiress" (London), and "Good Good Friends" with Patrick Dennis. His most popular songs are "Guess Who I Saw Today," "Thursday's Child," "Come By Sunday" and "Not A Moment Too Soon." He has just finished a book of recollections entitled "Guess Who I saw Today." He is currently living and working in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
