BROADWAY BY THE YEAR LAST MINUTE CAST CHANGES FOR "1925" SHOW

Late breaking news about last minute cast changes in Monday's THE TOWN HALL (123 West 43rd Street, NYC - http://www.the-townhall-nyc.org/) revival of "The Broadway Musicals of 1925." Due to "Offers They Couldn't Refuse," both Kaitlin Hopkins and Martin Vidnovic politely begged off their commitments to join Scott Siegel's hit "Broadway by the Year" concert series less than a week-and-a-half before the latest show hits the Town Hall stage on June 23rd. Hopkins got a part in a movie and Vidnovic was offered an eight week gig in Pasadena. Siegel moved quickly and aggressively to fill the vacancies. In a two-for-three swap, he secured the services of Emily Skinner, Jason Graae, and Marc Kudisch.

Both Graae and Kudisch are veterans of the "Broadway by the Year" series, with Graae having performed in the very first concert (1943) and Kudisch in the most recent (1960). Kudisch, who wowed the nearly sold out crowd last week with his off-mike version of "If Ever I Would Leave You" will be putting the microphone aside once again to sing the stirring "The Song of the Vagabonds" from 1925's Vagabond King.

These three new recruits will be joining original cast members Nancy Anderson, Justin Bohon, and Walker Jones. The first time "The Broadway Musicals of 1925" was staged, the biggest blizzard in more than two decades shut down NYC. In true show business style the show went on. The largest part of the audience, however, couldn't get there to see it. So, "the revival" is taking place on Monday, the 23rd with an exciting cast.

The original show has attained a sort of minor cult status. Many of those who hardy souls who saw it think it might well be the best of the ten Broadway by the Year shows that have so far been staged. To hear how the original show sounded, you can get the CD (Bayview Records) at footlight.com, where it is presently number one on their bestseller list (It has been number one for more than two weeks). Because this was not a scheduled show, Siegel reports that there are still plenty of good seats left for this encore performance.

THE TOWN HALL (123 West 43rd Street, NYC - http://www.the-townhall-nyc.org/) box office is open from noon to 6:00 pm every day but Sunday and tickets are also available at TicketMaster: 212-307-4100. Remaining seats are available at $40 and $37.50.
