JERRY CHRISTAKOS IS "CESAR BORGOTA" SUNDAYS AT ROSE'S TURN

Jerry Christakos, 2003 Nightlife Award Winner and MAC nominee for "Lovely: A Musical Comedy," will star in a theatrical solo cabaret, "Cesar Borgota: A Lotta Borgota!" at UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 1-212-366-5438 - http://www.rosesturn.com/). Performances are on Sunday nights, September 14th, 21st, and 28th at 7:00 pm. Mr. Christakos creates another humorous character in Cesar Borgota, song stylist and lounge luminary of the 60s and 70s, and uses original music as well Broadway showtunes and popular songs of the era. Musical Director John McMahon accompanies the zaniness. The cover charge is $12.00 with a 2-drink minimum and reservations are requested.

Jerry Christakos was featured in the Boston and Washington DC companies of "Forbidden Broadway." He has performed lead roles on the main stage and cabaret stage for two summer stock seasons at The Forestburgh Playhouse, and was seen in "Wonderful Town" at The Goodspeed Opera House. He was then cast in the national tour of "Les Miserables" where he portrayed Enjolras, the student leader. He later joined the national tour of "Andrew Lloyd Webber: Music of The Night" as a featured soloist.

Mr. Christakos then went on to originate the role of Gabriel in the Toronto, London and Broadway productions of "Kiss of the Spider Woman." He has also appeared in productions of "Hot 'n Cole" at Actors' Theater of Louisville and Florida Stage. In 2002 Mr. Christakos debuted two cabaret shows in New York City: "Jerry Christakos: A Little Less Formal," which debuted at Regents Club, and "Lovely: A Musical Comedy," which co-starred Kelly Briggs and premiered at Rose's Turn. "Lovely" has since played in NYC at Don't Tell Mama, Judy's Chelsea, Regents Club, The Duplex and in Provincetown, MA at The Crown And Anchor and New Hope, PA at Odette's. The show received a MAC nomination and garnered the 2003 Nightlife Award for Outstanding Cabaret Musical Comedy Performance.
