Brett Kristofferson is a composer/lyricist/librettist. His song, "The Whole Wide World," was recently nominated for a 2001 MAC (Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets) Award for "Song of the Year." A revue of Brett's music, "Beginnings: The Music of Brett Kristofferson" broke attendance records at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) in the fall of 2001, and went on to play an extended run. His first foray into the cabaret world, in 1999, was another revue of his music called "This Love," which was deemed "Best Cabaret Revue of the Year" by The New York Post (1999), and also went on to play an extended run at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/).

Kristofferson's songs have been performed by a wide range of theatre companies and organizations in New York, including The Storefront (of which he is a founding member), The Ergo Theatre Company, The Genesius Guild, Downtown Lives!, Manhattan Theatre Source, Astoria Center for the Performing Arts, and Theatre Resources Unlimited (TRU). Brett served as Musical Director for the acclaimed New York production of "Bed, Boys and Beyond" (cast album - Dink records), as well as two revues for The Storefront: "Taking the Wheel: The Music of John Bucchino," and "It's an Art: The Music of Stephen Schwartz," working with the composers on both projects.

The Chip Deffaa Invitational is a new festival of the performing arts, presented by the long-time New York Post critic. Established artists ranging from Tony Award-winner Thommie Walsh, who will direct a project based upon the life of Danny Kaye, to Winnie Holzman (currently co-writing "Wicked" with Stephen Schwartz), who'll be represented by an all-star staged reading of her musical, "Birds of Paradise." The festival will mix debuts of new plays and musicals with revues honoring great theater songwriters of past and present.
