Andy
Suvalsky Returns to DANNY'S In "My American Songbook"

After
three sold-out shows in June, Andy Suvalsky returns to DANNY'S SKYLIGHT
ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/)
to reprise his second solo show on Thursdays, September 5th &
12th at 9:15 pm. He will be accompanied by the Wells Hanley Quartet.
Cover is $15 with a $10 food/drink minimum.
Andy's show, "My American
Songbook," expresses his connection with the swing, be-bop and romantic
jazz roots of American music from the mid-part of the 20th century.
This music, often referred to as The Great American Songbook collection,
is the foundation of a selection of pieces and arrangements which
Andy has adopted as his own. The evening will be enhanced by the verve
and passion of top NYC musicians, with Wells Hanley on piano, Eiving
Opfcik on bass, Jeff Davis on drums and Jason Gillenwater on tenor
sax.
Influenced by the music
of Porter, Gershwin, Arlen and Ellington, as well as Ella, Frank,
Sarah, and Nina (to name only a few), Andy's style is modern and unique,
learning from but never treading on the stylistic distinctions of
great artists who's popular and, sometimes lesser known versions of
these songs, have become part of the collective American musical conscience.
Whether swinging, scatting
and breathlessly embracing the deeper nuances of lush ballads, Andy's
fearless approach and connection to this music should make for an
exciting show.
