4th Street, NYC - 212-475-7710). Performances are Thursdays through

Psychic mime, rock ballads,
evil puppet heads ... not to mention a sœance or two! "Spectacle of
Spectacles: The Clairvoyant Cabaret" is a strange and funny antidote
to the early 21st century blues. Musical medium, Madame MarieMarie,
leads you across the great divide for an evening of ectoplasmic entertainment.
She unlocks the door to the underworld with the help of her paranormally
gifted co-stars: Quiva and her celebrity-channeling puppet head, The
Amazing Abelard, Todd and Claire, The Fortune Telling Fish, and Pascal
the Speaking Mime. It is a new musical that's all singing, all dancing,
and all un-dead!
Deirdre Broderick, currently
mortal and assuming all responsibility for this madness, is Spectacle
of Spectacles' writer, composer, lyricist, director, leading lady
and band. A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Deirdre has
been writing for film, theatre and television in New York and across
the country. Her first feature film score was last year's critically
acclaimed independent film, ABCD. Her original musical, "The Perfect
Monster," with book by Janine Nina Trevens, was produced last spring
by NYC's Tada! Children's Theatre. Her collaboration with Paula Josa-Jones
Performance Works Dance Company has yielded American tours of "Light
and Bone and Wonderland," which was seen in NYC at The Joyce Theatre.
"Viva Los Alamos: The Lost Elvis Movie in 3D," with writer/lyricist
Mike Katinsky, achieved cult status after it's premiere production
in Atlanta and was remounted to rave reviews in NYC's Fringe Festival
2000. Deirdre is currently affiliated with the multimedia studio,
Harmony 534 in NYC.
Other performers who join
her on stage for the mayhem that is Spectacle of Spectacles are Bill
Connington, Brian P. Glover and Katherine Gooch.
