MARCUS SIMEONE Brings "MOSTLY STANDARDS" To The Duplex

2002 MAC nominee (Outstanding Male Vocalist) Marcus Simeone brings his all new show, "Mostly Standards," to THE DUPLEX (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/) on Sundays, May 12th at 4:00 pm and May 19th at 9:00 pm. D. Jay Bradley is musical director. There is a $10 music charge and a 2-drink minimum.

In his new show, Marcus will lend his haunting, multi-octave voice to classics he grew up with from the great American songbook as well as some newer songs that are part of his musical life today. Acclaimed for his heartfelt interpretations of contemporary, jazz and pop songs, the show will also introduce the audience to his musical roots and some newer songs that are finding their place in the songbook of the 21st century. The show features songs from legendary composers such as Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Henry Mancini and Richard Rodgers.

His recent run at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) with his acclaimed show, "Daydreams," introduced him to many luminaries and new fans from the cabaret and theater community. Ultimately, he received his first MAC nomination as Outstanding Male Vocalist by the Manhattan association of Cabarets & Clubs.

A veteran jazz-pop singer for over ten years with various bands in the Tri-state area, Brooklyn born Marcus has built a following of fans touched by his sensitive interpretations of songs from the heart. Frequently compared to the likes of Al Jarreau and Johnny Mathis, he was a finalist on "Star Search" and appeared on NBC-TV's "Showtime at The Apollo."

A part-time and volunteer AIDS social worker, Marcus has dedicated a large part of his life contributing to this health crisis. He is proud of his one-on-one work with home bound patients, hospitals, hospices, prisons and the homeless.
