PRIVATE
EVENTS in PUBLIC PLACES At MAMA'S May Mondays

A
new original show, PRIVATE EVENTS in PUBLIC PLACES" will open at DON'T
TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/)
on Monday, May 6th, with additional performances scheduled for the
13th & 20th. All shows are at 7:00 pm. There is a $20 cover charge,
2-drink minimum.
The show is written &
directed by Jeff Matson, with Music by Brooks Cowan. Musical direction
& arrangements are by David Maiocco, with additional vocal arrangements
by the Ensemble. Annie Hughes, Rob Langeder, Carolyn Montgomery &
Miles Phillips come together to form this extraordinary ensemble,
consisting of four of the best singing actors in the business. Their
varied backgrounds, years of performance experience and diverse singing
styles should contribute to making PRIVATE EVENTS in PUBLIC PLACES
an exciting evening of musical theatre exploring the privacy, passion,
pain and joy of life in these challenging times.

PRIVATE
EVENTS in PUBLIC PLACES features close harmonies, broad comedy, a
bitter ballad, a soaring anthem and maybe some things you've never
considered. The show weaves material from nearly two decades of collaboration
between composer Brooks Cowan and writer Jeff Matson into a new theatrical
revue. The vintage material has been given vivid new takes by this
top-notch ensemble, and many numbers will be heard for the first time.
Matson &
Cowan's other projects include the turn-of-the-century musical, "Queen
of the Mist;" a Cabaret Musical, "The Cafe Floe;" an intimate, 4-character
show called "Shoot! A Musical in 36 Exposures;" and they are currently
working on several other original shows, including "The Weekend Waltz;"
a corporate musical called "INC.;" a B-movie send-up, "The Revenge
of the Colossal Woman;" and "Bar Noir."
Musical director & arranger
David Maiocco is the 2000 Backstage Bistro Award and 2002 MAC Award
winner for Best Musical Direction. He has worked with the MAC Award-winning
Richard Skipper, James Beaman, Christine Pedi, Tommy Femia, Sidney
Myer and Eric Pickering. He is currently developing a new show to
be presented at DON'T TELL MAMA with Greg Rodeheffer.
