Suzanne Petri Appearing at Davenport's Cabaret

Singer/actress Suzanne Petri brings her new show "I'm Still Here ... I Think" to DAVENPORT'S Piano Bar & Cabaret (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/) in August, with performances on Fridays at 10:30 pm, August 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd. Musical director is Bob Moreen. There is a $15 cover, 2-drink minimum.

In the show Suzanne tells how she and her husband Bob Breuler survived an early morning apartment fire and a few other disasters, but luckily, she's still here to sing about it and celebrate what passes by! Included are songs by Stephen Sondheim, Jacques Brel, Noel Coward, Elizabeth Doyle and Owen Kalt, Artie Butler, Lieber & Stoller, plus favorites sung by Marlene Dietrich, Edith Piaf, Beatrice Lillie and a great many of your fire favorites including The Ritual Fire Dance, Ring of Fire, Light my Fire and We Didn't Start the Fire.

Ms. Petri has graced many stages across the Chicago area. Audiences have enjoyed her performances at such theatres as the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Next Theatre, Eclipse, Apple Tree and American Theater Company where she is an ensemble member, appearing as Meg in the recent hit, "A Lie Of the Mind" and Mrs. Peachum in the acclaimed production of "The Threepenny Opera." As a cabaret artist she has thrilled audiences since moving to Chicago in 1986 in venues from Boombala, the Roxy and The Underground Wonder Bar to the University Club of Chicago, The Chicago Humanities Festival, the Royal George, Davenport's and the intimate Wine Cellar Cabaret at Cucina Bella, as well as one woman tributes to Beatrice Lillie, Sophie Tucker, Marlene Dietrich and Noel Coward at the Chicago Cultural Center. She enjoyed performing at the magical and beautiful Toulouse Cognac Bar and the exquisite Cuneo Museum in Vernon Hills.

Suzanne also co-produced and performed in "A Holiday Cabaret 1999, 2000 & 2001" benefiting Teen Living Programs. She performed in the first Chicago "Cabaret on the Record," with Karen Mason, Nan Mason, Spider Saloff, Michael McAssey and others. She sang songs from her forthcoming debut CD "Life Songs." She also performed with Alexandra Billings at the Bailiwick Summer Concert Series on July 16th and returned to Davenport's in August 2001. She performed at Davenport's on March 29th, 2002 in "Black Market Good Friday," a tribute to Marlene Dietrich, her life loves and music. She is president and founding member of the recently re-formed Chicago Cabaret Professionals. She is currently working on co-producing and performing in Chicago Cabaret Professionals Summer Gala August 16th and 17th at the Royal George and she performs at the Water Tower Pumping Station August 23rd. She begins rehearsals for Carson Grace Becker's new play, "Book of Mercy" at Chicago Dramatists in August.
