THE STOREFRONT presents New NEW MONDAYS Series

A songwriter's showcase featuring: William Finn, Julie Gold, Ricky Ian Gordon, Carol Hall, Tom Jones, Henry Krieger, Galt McDermott, Charles Strouse and Lee Adams, Frank Wildhorn and a host of others

The Storefront (http://www.storefronttheatre.com) has announced plans for a second round of their acclaimed NEW MONDAYS series, a songwriter's showcase featuring the works of both established and up-and-coming composers. Each Monday, composers will gather to debut three or four of their new compositions in front of a supportive audience. Some of the composers will perform the material themselves; some will be accompanied by accomplished vocalists from the worlds of theatre and cabaret. The series will run Mondays, October 7th through December 2nd at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/). There is a $12 cover, and a two-drink minimum. All performances begin at 7:00 pm.

The last round of NEW MONDAYS took place in June and July, and featured work from twenty-one composers, among them Jason Robert Brown, John Bucchino, David Friedman, Michael John LaChiusa, Andrew Lippa, Stephen Schwartz and John Wallowitch. Among others, this next round features exciting music from: Tom Jones (The Fantasticks, 110 in the Shade), who plans to debut music from his new project, Harold and Maude. Charles Strouse and Lee Adams (Applause, Bye, Bye Birdie) plan to debut music from their newest project, Marty. William Finn (Falsettos, A New Brain), will present new work, as well as the music of his musical theatre students from NYU. Also expect exciting work from Henry Krieger (DreamGirls, Side Show), Carol Hall (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas), Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll and Hyde, The Civil War), Julie Gold (From a Distance), Ricky Ian Gordon (Bright Eyed Joy), and Galt McDermott (Hair, Two Gentleman of Verona). Furthermore, the Storefront is especially proud to present new and original works from composers and lyricists with whom you may not be as familiar.
