Cabaret's Finest Come Together for "Mikey Writes It"

Sixteen of New York City's finest singers comprise the cast of "Mikey Writes lt: Some Songs By Michael Holland," a showcase of songs written by Michael Holland, presented at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) in Wednesdays, August 21st & 28th and September 4th & 11th. Musical Direction and Arrangements by Michael Holland and the shoe is Produced and Directed by Courtney Knowles. There is a $15 cover and a 2-drink minimum.

The show is a theatrical presentation of Holland's songs (a mix of new and previously recorded selections) performed by Judy Barnett, Kristy Cates, Charles Cermele, Scott Coulter, Brandon Cutrell, Natalie Douglas, David Gurland, Eric Forand, Audrey Lavine, Karen Mack, Debbie Magidson, Eric Pickering, Julie Reyburn, Jerry Smith and Anne Steele.

Holland has already established himself in both the cabaret and pop worlds, winning a 2002 MAC award and receiving the MP3.com Blockbuster Music Award for Best Male Rock Artist in 2001. His recognition and awards have made Holland a pioneer in the gay pop arena, a niche still relatively uninhabited on a mainstream level. A four-octave vocalist, award winning songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, Holland has recorded/produced three albums and, his latest, "Darkness Falls" (Miss Prim Records) was released to high critical acclaim.

"Mikey Writes lt: Some Songs By Michael Holland" is designed to appeal both to a mainstream audience of entertainment seekers and the musicians/performers looking for new material. Sheet music and song books will be available after the show.
