MIDDLE
EIGHT MUSIC Announces New CD Releases

MIDDLE
EIGHT MUSIC (http://www.middle8.com),
the #1 source for cabaret CDs in Australia, announces the launch of
the first solo CD by Phil Scott, SERIOUS CABARET. Phil has been described
as one of Australia's living national show business treasures, having
achieved success as a songwriter, novelist, musical director and accompanist,
political satirist and comedian. Now his extraordinary talents as
a solo performer are captured on this new CD, recorded live during
his season of SERIOUS CABARET at SORLIES in Sydney, and produced by
Middle Eight Music. It's an absolute treat for lovers of cabaret and
comedy! SORLIES at Glen St Theatre, in the northern suburbs, is the
longest running cabaret venue in Sydney, although their programming
isn't continuous.
MIDDLE EIGHT now also
has available the two latest releases from Bayview Records: THE BROADWAY
MUSICALS OF 1943 and the eagerly awaited new CD from Geraldine Turner,
THE STEPHEN SONDHEIM SONGBOOK VOLUME 2. You'll find more information
about these on the front page of the MIDDLE EIGHT MUSIC (http://www.middle8.com)
website.
Other recent additions
include the latest from Colleen Hewett called BULAMAMA. Colleen is
one of Australia's best loved performers, with a career spanning three
decades in pop music, theatre and television. She has had numerous
hit records and her stage credits include "Godspell" and "Pippin."
This CD released in late 2001 includes a new version of one of her
biggest hits, "Day By Day," plus 10 new songs in the pop/rock vein.
Shortly MIDDLE EIGHT MUSIC
will have in stock the debut CD by young Melbourne cabaret and music
theatre performer John Ellis. It's called NEW HABITS (which is a song
written by Shane Hewitt, who happens to own MIDDLE EIGHT) and will
be launched on Sunday, April 28th when John and his wonderful accompanist
Amanda Hodder return to CAPERS CABARET (Hawthorn, Melbourne, AUS -
Bookings: 03 9819 1797) for a three-night run. There is a $16.50 cover
charge with full bar service and snacks available!
