LEE LESSACK in the British premiere of "Too Marvelous for Words: The Songs of Johnny Mercer"

Award-winning American cabaret and recording artist, Lee Lessack, presents the British premiere of his acclaimed US Mercer tribute "Too Marvelous For Words:The Songs of Johnny Mercer" for four nights only at London's PIZZA ON THE PARK (11 Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, London - 020-7235-5273) Wednesday through Saturday, July 10th through 13th, with 2 sets each night at 9:15 and 10:45 pm. Tickets: £16.00 (prepaid) £18.00 on the door.

The show mixes Mercer's touching love songs ("I Thought About You," "Skylark"), novelty songs ("Whatchamacallit") and autumnal odes ("Autumn Leaves" and "Whistling Away the Dark"). In between, Lee scatters snippets of Mercer's history, just to give audiences a framework of appreciation for the wordsmith, who died in 1976 at age 66.

Lee made his London cabaret debut two years ago with a sold-out engagement at JERMYN STREET THEATRE (16B Jermyn Street, Piccadilly, London - 020 72872875). Lessack's elegant vocal styling consistently dazzles and delights his many fans. An accomplished cabaret artist, Mr. Lessack has toured extensively in the United States and Europe to sold-out performances and stellar reviews. Mr. Lessack also lends his voice to many philanthropic functions throughout the year including the annual S.T.A.G.E. Benefit that raises money to fight HIV/AIDS.
