Dame Cleo Lane with John Dankworth Headline at FEINSTEIN'S in January


FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095 - http://www.feinsteinsattheregency.com/) will present legendary singer Dame Cleo Laine with John Dankworth in "The Dame Takes Manhattan" from January 14th through February 2nd.

"The Dame Takes Manhattan" celebrates the 25th anniversary of their collaboration and their latest CD Cleo Laine: Live in Manhattan, recorded at Carnegie Hall. Her show features songs b, George & Ira Gershwin, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Johnny Mercer & Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington and Vincent Youmans.

Dame Cleo Laine, hailed as "The Queen of Jazz," is one of the most celebrated singers of our time and the only singer ever to receive Grammy Award nominations in the Female Jazz, Popular and Classical categories. She performs regularly at London's Prince Albert Hall and major symphony orchestras with John Dankworth, her husband and professional partner.

In London's West End, she starred in "Show Boat" and "Colette." On Broadway, she starred in "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," for which she received a Tony Award nomination as well as a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk nomination. Other U.S. appearances include "A Little Night Music," "The Merry Widow" and "Into the Woods," for which she received a Los Angeles Drama Critic Award. Her albums include "Blue and Sentimental" (featuring Joe Williams, Gerry Mulligan and Clark Terry), "Jazz" (featuring Toots Thielemans, Clark Terry and Mark Whitfield), "Cleo Sings Sondheim" and the Grammy Award winning "Cleo at Carnegie 10th Anniversary."

She has been honored by the Queen of England, received an honorary degree from the Berkley School of Music, the Variety Club's "Personality of the Year," a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Jazz Society.

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE REGENCY will play the following schedule: Tuesday through Saturday a 8:30 pm with a late show on Friday and Saturday at 11:00 pm. Ticket prices and food & beverage minimums are as follows: Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 pm shows - $60 cover and $39.50 minimum; Friday and Saturday 11:00 pm late show - $60 cover and $25 minimum. Jackets are suggested, but not required.
