"Judy And Me" Returns for Gay Pride Week By Popular Demand!

New gay play by Charles Tolliver Returns to UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 212-366-5438). "Judy And Me" stars Baltimore Russell, Katherine Falcone, Chuck Klotz, Darren C. Polito, Mary Donnelly, Dylan DeLatorre and introducing Peter Mac (of "Making Porn" ) as Judy Garland. "Judy And Me" will have five performances during gay pride week: June 26th and 27th at 8:00 pm, the 28th and 29th at 7:00 pm and on June 30th at 5:00 pm. There is a $10 cover charge plus a two drink minimum. Performances have also been scheduled for Sundays April 7th, 14th & 21st at 6:00 pm, and Tuesdays April 9th, 16th & 30th at 8:00 pm.

The play focuses on Anthony, a 16 year-old boy trapped in a narrow minded Long Islandsuburb. An outcast at school, he is the daily target of verbal and physical abuse from his classmates. Things aren't any better at home. His father Sal is a walking time bomb and a constant source of pain to Anthony and his mother.

His escape? The legendary entertainer Judy Garland. She comes to life before his eyes, helping him through the rough spots with encouragement and funny stories. Through this encounter Anthony learns to deal with his dysfunctional family, rotten school life and his sexual preference. The play tackles both the issues of homophobia and domestic abuse. It also delves into Garland's everlasting appeal to the gay community.
