JACKSON & PALTER PRESENT PAIR OF SHOWS AT REGATTABAR

Lynne Jackson & Mike Palter, the internationally acclaimed cabaret duo, present two unique shows at THE REGATTABAR in the Charles Hotel (One Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-876-777) on Friday, August 30th. At 7:30 they will present "Girls, Moms & Me!" A Gentle and Profane Look at Women, and at 10:00 pm the duo will perform "Where the Blue of the Night Meets the Gold of the Day," A Tribute to Bing Crosby. Both shows feature Lynne Jackson on piano and vocals, Mike Palter on acoustic bass and vocals and John Cramer on trumpet and vocals.

The first show, "Girls, Moms & Me!" is a sometimes sardonic, often hilarious look at the "evolution" of the female from innocent beginnings to "conspiratorial" maturity. Featuring an endearing mix of standards, folk, Broadway and opera, laced with the humor of the likes of Groucho Marx and Shel Silverstein, Lynne and Mike explore and expose the dangers and delights of femininity, running the musical gamut from Sondheim's biting "The Ladies Who Lunch" to Verdi's "La Donna e Mobile," from the haunting "A Child Is Born" to the Noel Coward classic, "Don't Put Your Daughter On The Stage, Mrs. Worthington."

The duo's Bing Crosby tribute, "Where the Blue of the Night Meets the Gold of the Day," featuring John "Hot Lips" Cramer in supporting roles as Al Rinker ("The Rhythm Boys"), Bix Beiderbecke and Louis Armstrong, is a loving musical/narrative tribute to one of the great singers and entertainers of the 20th century, touched with the authenticity of many, unforgettable Crosby hits, all arranged with the unique Lynne & Mike touch.
