The Legendary Buddy Greco Presents "Fever: A Tribute to Miss Peggy
Lee" at Stoneham Theatre

Buddy
Greco, known to thousands of New Englanders as pianist, night-club
crooner, former member of the Benny Goodman Orchestra and part-time
Rat Pack member, will bring his new musical, "Fever: A Tribute to
Miss Peggy Lee," to STONEHAM THEATRE (395 Main Street, Stoneham, MA
- 781-279-2200 - http://www.stonehamtheatre.org/)
October 3rd through 6th for the East Coast premier. Opening in August
in Las Vegas, "Fever," starring Lezlie Anders, was praised for it's
sophisticated and elegant simplicity - a style which Peggy Lee was
known for - and for its swinging big band musical numbers, all of
which were arranged and are performed on stage by Mr. Greco. Showtimes
are Thursday, October 3rd at 7:30 pm, Friday, October 4th at 8:00
pm, Saturday, October 5th at 4:00 & 8:00 pm and Sunday, October 6th
2:00 pm. Tickets are $30 & $35.
Greco is enormously popular
in the Boston area and appeared regularly in the 1950s and 60s in
such night spots as the Surf, Frolics, Monticellos and Blinstrubs.
His hits "Oh Look at Her Ain't She Pretty," "The Lady is a Tramp"
and "Around the World" earned gold records, selling in the millions.
Known as "the singer's singer," and "a musician's musician," Greco's
super-star status took him to clubs and concert halls world-wide as
well as a command performance with the Beatles for Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II. A tribute to his dear friend Nat King Cole at Carnegie
Hall, a 72 city tour with the Salute to the Benny Goodman Band as
headliner and conductor, and his 1997 CD, "Like Young," which ranked
as Billboard Magazine's Pick of the Week are a few of his recent projects.
He performs regularly in Las Vegas with wife, Lezlie Anders, and a
burning 12-piece big band, and were the buzz of the town when they
instituted a dress code they call "casual elegant" or "cocktail attire"
that was embraced by a cache crowd of Vegas night clubbers.
Lezlie Anders, who stars
in "Fever," is well acquainted with Peggy Lee. Her CD, "With Love,
Lezlie" was a dedication to the singer, and an upcoming recording
will include music from the show.
