HOWARD FISHMAN QUARTET COMES TO NJPAC'S NEW CHASE ROOM MUSIC SERIES ON SUNDAY, APRIL 28th

NJPAC presents the Howard Fishman Quartet - one of the most exciting new ensembles to hit the jazz scene in New York - for one performance only in The Chase Room at the NEW JERSEY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (One Center Street, Newark, NJ - 888-466-5722 - http://www.njpac.org) on Sunday, April 28th at 5:00 pm. Tickets are $25 (cash bar available). The performance is part of NJPAC's new Chase Room Music Series.

Led by guitarist and vocalist Howard Fishman - a Connecticut native who spent several years soaking up the musical atmosphere of New Orleans - the quartet goes beyond the common perception of jazz, in a repertoire that ranges from Fishman's own songs to pop standards and obscure classics from folk, country, blues, Texas swing, Hot Club swing and "old-time music."

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), located in the heart of an emerging downtown Newark, New Jersey, is the sixth largest performing arts center in the United States. Home of the Grammy Award-winning New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, NJPAC has been widely cited as a catalyst in the revitalization of New Jersey's largest city, attracting over 2.2 million visitors (including more than 500,000 children) in its first four years of operation.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and by funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
