FRIENDS OF BARBRA Present "A Star Is Bored"

After sellout New York seasons in 2000 and 2001, the Australian cabaret act FRIENDS OF BARBRA returns to THE DUPLEX (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/) with their latest show, "A Star Is Bored." Shows are on Wednesday & Thursday, August 28th & 29th at 8:00 pm, and Friday, the 30th at 10:00 pm. There is a $12 cover, 2-drink minimum.

FRIENDS OF BARBRA is an award-winning Australian cabaret act which specializes in performing the music of Ms. Streisand and a slew of other musical icons. Winners of the Australian Green Room Award for Most Outstanding Musical Arrangements in Cabaret, FRIENDS OF BARBRA made their New York debut at THE DUPLEX in May 2000. After drawing capacity crowds to their first New York season, FRIENDS OF BARBRA was thrilled to sell-out another season in April 2001.

The FRIENDS OF BARBRA boys are: Michael Smallwood - a graduate of Juilliard's Opera Center and a tenor who has worked with Chicago Opera Theatre, Sante Fe Opera, Opera Australia and Hamburg Staatsoper. Luke Gallagher - a director, dramaturg and performer of musical theatre and cabaret in Australia and the USA. Nigel Ubrihien - a composer, arranger and musical director of chamber music and musical theatre around the world, also works with other artists including David Campbell and Kane Alexander.
