THE STOREFRONT presents DEAD DIVAS in June at THE DUPLEX

An evening of music made famous by ladies (and extraordinarily gay men) who have passed.

Garland. Dietrich. Shore. Lynde. Tucker. Fitzgerald. Liberace. Springfield. Holiday. Joplin. The list is endless. Brilliant performers whom we love, who gave definitive renditions of some of the finest music ever written.

The Storefront (http://www.storefronttheatre.com) will celebrate these fabulous ladies in an evening of familiar music, performed by some of the finest voices in the cabaret world. DEAD DIVAS will run Saturdays in June, the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th at 8:00 pm at THE DUPLEX (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/). There is a $15 cover, and a 2-drink minimum.

Featured in Dead Divas is an award-winning ensemble comprised of familiar faces to the New York cabaret community. Among them, they have earned countless MAC Awards and nominations, Bistro Awards, and each has been heralded in the press on more than one occasion. They know their stuff. The ten-member cast consists of: Lisa Asher, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Kristy Cates, Jarrod Cafaro, David Gurland, Audrey Lavine, Marina MacNeal, Julie Reyburn, David Sabella, and Marcus Simeone. Musical Direction is by Alfredo Alvarez, and the show has been conceived and directed by Mr. Bond.

The Storefront was founded in late 1999 and to date, the company has presented a multitude of productions, each earning critical praise and near capacity crowds. Most recently, the young company debuted a new version of the Charles Strouse/Stephen Schwartz/Joe Stein musical, RAGS, starring Anne Runolfsson and Leslie Kritzer. Past productions include revues of the music of Stephen Schwartz, John Bucchino and Brett Kristofferson, as well as the smash hit and MAC Award-winning 70's cabaret revue, "Gashole: The Wit and Wisdom of the 70's."

Also this summer, The Storefront will present "New Mondays," a songwriter's showcase, which will feature celebrated artists such as Stephen Schwartz, John Bucchino, Michael John LaChiusa, Andrew Lippa, Julie Gold and Jason Robert Brown.
