with a special performance by cabaret legend Julie Wilson. Other featured
performers in February include Cory Jamison, D.C. Anderson and "Dirty

Cabaret legend Julie Wilson
makes her Davenport's debut as part of the first-ever Chicago Cabaret
Convention. Wilson brings along a collection of hits from her years
of performing. She has headlined in virtually every top supper club
and cabaret room in the United States, and has starred on and off
Broadway in "Kiss Me Kate," "The Pajama Game," "Kismet," "Jimmy,"
"Hannah ...39," and "Legs Diamond," for which she received a Tony
Award nomination. In London's West End, Ms. Wilson created the role
of Bianca in "Kiss Me Kate," starred in "South Pacific," "Bet Your
Life," and "Bells Are Ringing." She toured in "Company," "A Little
Night Music," "Babes in Arms," and "Follies." She starred in the Hallmark
Hall of Fame production of "Kiss Me Kate" and the specials "The Bachelor,"
"Come to Me," and PBS's "The Julie Wilson Songbook."
Stephen Rader
Saturdays, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th at 10:30 pm.
Rader performs at numerous
Chicago venues including Davenport's, Voltaire, the Gentry and Toulouse
on the Park. In 1999, he received the After Dark Award for Outstanding
Cabaret performer for his show "Mama's Boy," and his second show "Weird,
Sexy & Dangerous," was honored as one of the top cabaret shows of
2000 by Gay Chicago Magazine.

Mayes: "An Evening with Sally Mayes"
Monday, March 4th at 8:00 pm. Cover Charge: $20
Tony nominee Sally Mayes
makes her Davenport's debut with selections from The Story Hour and
Boys and Girls Like You and Me. Mayes' most recent critical acclaim
comes from starring in the National Tour of "Dirty Blonde," currently
playing at the Auditorium Theatre.

Becker: "Can't Stop Talking, The Songs of Betty Hutton"
March 7th-10th (Thu-Sat at 8:00 pm and Sun at 7:00 pm) Cover Charge:

Gail Becker returns to
Davenport's to highlight the uniqueness of Betty Hutton's career,
offering songs with outrageous lyrics, crazy analogies, and rapid
tempos. Featured songs in the program include "Murder, He Says," "I've
Got the Sun In the Morning," "Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief," "Rumble
Rumble," "That Little Dream Got Nowhere," and "Let's Not Talk About
Love."
This Time: A World
Premiere Concept Musical

This Time, a theatrical
song-cycle, follows the romantic history of a young man as seen through
the eyes of his now older and wiser first love. New relationships,
independence, loss, reflection and rebirth drive this three-person
show forward. Brimming with innovative composition and moving lyrics,
This Time features over a dozen new songs by composer/lyricist mike
descoteaux, who has been seen as composer, musical director, or pianist
for Musical! The Musical, Northlight Theater, New Tuners, and Comedy
Sportz.
"Grapefruit
Moon, the Music of Tom Waits"
Wednesday, March 13th at 10:30 pm. Cover Charge: $18
Held over by popular demand,
"Grapefruit Moon, the Music of Tom Waits," pays tribute to a wealth
of material spanning Tom Waits' 26-year songwriting career. A talented
trio of local vocalists (solo artists David Balsie and Matt Davis,
plus Patty Morabito of 3 Girls 3, and Dan Stetzel on piano) performs
such Waits standards as "Grapefruit Moon," "Downtown Train," "Invitation
to the Blues" and "Earth Died Screaming."
Pamela Sue Fox: "Let's
Misbehave!"
Friday, March 15th at 8:00 pm. Cover Charge: $15
Pamela Sue Fox returns
to Davenport's to showcase some of the vast musical comedy material
by one of America's most beloved composers ever, Cole Porter. "Let's
Misbehave!" features 17 Porter tunes, including a new song, "Opera
Star," with lyrics written by Cole Porter during his college days
and an original melody by Chicagoan John Steinhagen.
Joan
Curto: "Unexpressed?"
Friday, March 15th at 10:30 pm. Cover Charge: $10
Joan Curto's critically-acclaimed
"Unexpressed?" is an eclectic collection of songs ranging from the
1937 song "I Double Dare You," to a stunning rendition of Amanda McBroom's
"Putting Things Away." Other highlights include songs by Julie Gold,
Kurt Weill, Susan Werner, Carol Hall and the title song, "Unexpressed,"
by John Bucchino.
Colleen McHugh: "Tales
of Revenge & Regret"
Saturday, March 16th at 8:00 pm. Cover Charge: $20
Colleen McHugh, 2001's
After Dark Award winner for "Outstanding Cabaret Artist," returns
to Davenport's with her award-winning cabaret show, "Tales of Revenge
& Regret." This critically-acclaimed collection of comedy, jazz, country,
disco, and improvisation features music from songwriters as varied
as Johnny Mercer, Joni Mitchell, Cole Porter and even Weird Al Yankovic.

Jamison
Sunday, March 17th, at 7th pm. Cover Charge: $15
Cory Jamison brings an
eclectic mix of her favorite songs to Davenport's for one special
performance. Highlights include songs from the 1930's and 40's through
today's contemporary writers. Jamison, who is based in San Francisco
but is a Chicago favorite, has charmed audiences throughout the U.S.
with her insightful and sensitive interpretations of American popular
song.
Phillip Officer: "My
Romance, Love Songs by Richard Rodgers"
Monday, March 18th, at 7:00 pm. Cover Charge: $15
One of New York's favorite
singers, Phillip Officer, returns to Chicago with a special concert
spotlighting the centennial birthday celebration of Richard Rodgers.
Officer will also showcase Rodgers' collaborators; such great lyricists
as Lorenz Hart, Oscar Hammerstein II, Stephen Sondheim and Martin
Charnin. Song selections will include "Blue Moon," "It Might As Well
Be Spring," "My Funny Valentine," "Hello Young Lovers," "Bewitched,"
"Surrey With the Fringe On Top," and the classic, "My Romance."
D.C.
Anderson: "An Evening with D.C. Anderson"
Monday, March 18th at 9:00 pm. Cover Charge: $12
Currently touring the
country as Andre in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera
, D.C. Anderson will be performing the MAC nominated song, "How's
Your Little Act" (co-written with Billy Philadelphia), a few selections
from his current LML Music CD release, Blue Summer Day, as well as
premiering a few new songs.
Jeff Harnar
March 20th-24th at 8:00 pm. Cover Charge: $20
With musical director James
Followell on piano, Jeff Harnar brings a collection of songs from
his many shows and various compact discs. Harnar has twice won The
Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award (MAC) as Best Male Vocalist
and three times been honored with The Backstage Bistro Award (Newcomer,
Vocalist & Show). He has appeared at Carnegie Hall in both the Cole
Porter and Noel Coward Centennial Galas, as well as in his one-man
show at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall.
Beckie
Menzie and Tom Michael: "Cookin' Again"
Thursday, March 28th at 8:00 pm. Cover Charge: $12
Beckie and Tom return
to Davenport's for "Cookin' Again," a musical mixture of old and brand
new arrangements by one of Chicago's top cabaret duos. The evening's
recipe includes such songs as "I Can Cook, Too" and "Lost in the Stars."
Anne Pringle and Mark
Burnell: "Jazz at Dav's"
Friday, March 29th at 8th pm. Cover Charge: $12
Anne Pringle and Mark Burnell
reunite for "Jazz at Dav's," featuring some standards, blues, big
band, bebop, and their signature a capella. Highlights include music
from Basie to Monk.
Suzi
Petri: "Black Market Good Friday"
Friday, March 29th at 10:30 pm. Cover Charge: $15
Suzi Petri pays tribute
to the life, loves, and music of Marlene Dietrich.
IN THE PIANO BAR
In addition to providing
informal musical entertainment year-round with no cover charge, Davenport's
lively Piano Bar offers an after-work cocktail hour with complimentary
hors d'oeuvres on Friday evenings. "Martini Madness" strikes on Thursday
and Sunday evenings with specially-priced flavored martinis named
for Davenport's popular staff and performers, such as the "Mattini"
and "Nitz's Nector." Live entertainment begins at 9:00 pm on weeknights
and 8 pm on weekends, featuring sing-a-longs and audience requests
by the following popular Chicago performers:
