"CRAZY WORLD," SONGS OF LESLIE BRICUSSE RETURNS IN A NEW TWO-ACT VERSION

THE 2002 MAC AWARD-WINNING REVUE OF THE YEAR AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Multiple MAC Award nominee and Bistro Award winner James Beaman teams up again with powerhouse vocalist Goldie Dver and MAC and Bistro Award winning Musical Director/Arranger David Maiocco in a full-length version of the theatrical cabaret revue, "Crazy World," celebrating the songs of Oscar and Grammy-winning composer and lyricist Leslie Bricusse. "Crazy World" opens on Thursday, September 5 at 8:00 pm at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/) and plays Thursdays at 8:00 pm on September 12th, 19th & 26th and Sundays at 8:00 pm, September 8th & 15th. The show is 90 minutes long, including 10 minute intermission. There is a $15.00 cover charge plus two drink minimum.

The MAC Award winner for Revue of the Year 2002, "Crazy World" is conceived and directed by James Beaman. Inspired by the Bricusse lyric, "Each day's a brand new life," Beaman, Dver and Maiocco take the audience through an imaginary day, from dawn through morning and night to the following dawn, weaving a rich tapestry using famous and lesser-known gems from the Bricusse songbook. "Crazy World" draws on over 30 songs from Bricusse and his collaborators, Anthony Newley, Henry Mancini, Frank Wildhorn and others, including such hits as "You and I," Talk to the Animals," "Candy Man," and "Pure Imagination." The expanded two-act version of the show incorporates all new material, including an hilarious send-up of Bricusse's songs for the Bond films "Goldfinger" and "You Only Live Twice."

Leslie Bricusse is a double Oscar and Grammy Award winner, and one of only four Englishmen to be inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in New York. His stage musicals include "Stop the World -I Want to Get Off," "Victor/Victoria," and "Jekyll and Hyde" and his film scores include "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," "Dr. Doolittle," "Scrooge," and "Goodbye, Mr. Chips."
